Modern applications rely on neglected processes. This applies to enamelled copper wire soldering, which is necessary for many e-mobility applications. Enamelled wire manufacturers are constantly confronting users with new challenges, since new requirements mean that they have to manufacture new products using a wide variety of insulation materials, some of which are also newly developed. This development improves the insulation grade as well as the thermal resistance for future end products. However, this poses a challenge for soldering experts, because the usual soldering techniques in a normal atmosphere do not allow components coated with polyurethane or polyesterimide to be processed in this way. There is a risk of oxide formation or insulation residues reducing the final soldering quality. In this case, however, high-temperature soldering can provide a remedy, as thermal insulation is stripped in one step, product-specific and process-safe.
